The theme of the second edition of the Fêtes Galantes du Ségur is the echos of musicians past that reach our times and continue to guide the creative process of more recent composers – a perpetual transmission of this continuously renewed universal language that is Music.

Collection “Ici, là bas…”

N. Charcosset

Gabriel Faure, famous French composer from the crossroads of the XIXth and XXth centuries, will feature in our programme in commemoration of the centenary of his death, among other more recent composers.

Such “beacons” will guide and inspire the Fêtes.

BORGUEFÜL

Beauty tortuous song pagan from Haute-Loire and da camera

Dissonances, white nights and strange syllables. Atmospheric solo with voice and double bass. The language deployed under the bow strokes and the drone of the double bass, is the harsh and persuasive one of a Patois. The text of these surly songs evoke sensations, mountains, rain, wind, vulnerabilities, monsters. In this earthy landscape, powerful vibrations emerge, from which melodic fragments, rhythmic and percussive patterns are released.

In the strange gap between traditional song and contemporary music, Borgueful carries a breath that is raw and hoarsely, marked by the practice of free improvisation.

For the festival of the Fêtes Galantes du Ségur, Mélanie Loisel will present pieces weaving together a dialogue between the sounds of the double bass and et those created from the instrument, and then processed live by Manuel Duval, creating a rather electro-acoustic proposition.

TRIO ATLANTIQUE

A trio from Bordeaux created in 2022 with violin, cello and piano. Initially Emmanuelle, Yann and Guillaume worked together on score readings (Turina, Roussel, Schubert), and later launched themselves in sharing this incredible repertory.

The piano trio is for them a very strong grouping, which mirrors life’s ideal: between the dynamism of childhood and perpetual amazement of a parent.
